A digital advice avatar of your own. Built to brief, or cloned from your staff.
Digital advice for super fund members, dedicated to your fund and available whenever members are. It can educate, triage, give general advice or deliver personal advice — in your fund’s voice, on your fund’s terms, on your own website.
A dedicated digital adviser, not a shared chatbot.
It belongs to one fund. That is what makes it able to carry your brand, your voice and your advice permissions rather than a generic assistant’s.
It belongs to your fund
A dedicated avatar for your fund — built to your brief, or cloned from your own staff so members meet someone they already recognise. It speaks in your fund’s voice and operates on your fund’s terms.
It sits on your website
Deployed on your own site rather than a third-party portal members have to be sent to. It is available whenever members are, which is generally not between nine and five on a weekday.
It works at the advice level you set
Education, triage, general advice or personal advice. The same avatar can be scoped differently in different places — broad and general on the public site, personal behind the member login.
Five ways funds deploy digital advice to members.
Most funds start with one of these and widen the scope once they have watched real members use it.
Two funds have one running.
Different problems, same deployment. One is a public front door for advice; the other handles two of the hardest conversations a fund has to have.
What funds ask about digital advice avatars.
What is a virtual adviser?
A digital advice avatar — an on-screen adviser a member can talk to on the fund’s own website, at whatever hour they are actually thinking about their super. It can educate, triage, give general advice or deliver personal advice, depending on what the fund scopes it to do, and it runs on the same advice engine and the same record as the rest of the advice.
How is it different from a chatbot?
A chatbot is shared, generic and answers questions about content. This is dedicated to one fund, presents in your fund’s voice or as one of your own staff, and is scoped to an advice level you set — up to and including personal advice, under AFSL and ACL 420367.
Can it give intra-fund advice?
It can be scoped to give personal advice about the member’s account, and it can run behind your own planning and intra-fund teams rather than instead of them. Where the advice level sits, and for which member journeys, is the fund’s decision.
Whose website does it sit on?
Yours. The avatar is dedicated to your fund and deployed on your own website, in your fund’s voice and on your fund’s terms. NGS Super runs a Virtual Adviser on ngssuper.com.au today.
Can it deliver personal advice, or only general advice?
Either. A Virtual Adviser can educate, triage, give general advice or deliver personal advice. Which of those it does is a decision the fund makes, and it can be set differently for different member journeys.
Does the member have to log in before they reach it?
No. It can sit in front of the pin or behind it — an open front door on the public site, inside the authenticated member area, or both.
What does the avatar look and sound like?
It is built to your brief, or cloned from your own staff. Because it is dedicated to your fund rather than shared, it presents in your fund’s voice and is available whenever members are.
Does it replace our advisers and intra-fund team?
No. It can run behind your own planning and intra-fund teams. It also lets general-advice BDMs and CRM staff open the door to personal advice in the workplace, rather than stopping at the limit of what they are authorised to say.
Who is running one already?
NGS Super, on ngssuper.com.au, handling triage, general advice and personal advice for members. And a $100bn fund, helping members work out whether they qualify for early access to their super and walking beneficiaries through the death benefit process — from tax treatment through to what happens next.
Bring us the member journey, not the technology brief.
The useful first conversation is about which members you cannot reach today and what you would want an avatar to say to them. The build follows from that.
